Is it dangerous to get acrylic nails? What about pedicures?

I love to get acrylic nails and pedicures at the Salon. But I have heard it can be harmful and dangerous. Is it true? Should I stop?

Well I personally say no, simlpy because I get them done all the time. I live for my French Manicures. However, I do have this cousin who had an allergic reaction to the materials that are used and she developed a servere fungus on her FINGERNAILS (GROSS, Huh?). Well, anyways this happened to her like years ago, when I was about 13 and I am 22 now, and unfortunately she still has it. I don’t know why she never took care of it? But I guess if you get them done, and nothing happens to you, then you will learn to live by them, just like a million other girls. Besides, they look gorgeous.
